FAQs
How can I get involved with the Community Coalition?
The best way to get involved is to come and attend one of the monthly meetings that are open to the public. These meetings are typically held on the second Wednesday of each month from 3:30-5:00 pm. During these meetings you will get to see what kind of information is shared and get to know others in attendance. You can learn about volunteer opportunities and how to partner with other organizations in the area.
Visit our website for more information about the date and location of our next meeting. We look forward to meeting you!
Where can I find more information about the Community Coalition?
That's easy! Check out our website!
If you have specific questions that aren't answered on the website feel free to call the City of Champaign's Equity and Engagement Department at 217-403-8830, to speak to a staff member.
Are the police involved in the Community Coalition?
Yes, a variety of police organizations are involved with the Champaign County Community Coalition. Chiefs from the Champaign Police Department, Urbana Police Department, University of Illinois Police Department, Parkland College Police Department, and the Champaign County Sheriff's Office attend monthly Coalition meetings in order to actively engage with community partners and provide updates of local law enforcement activities.
Since the Community Coalition is a system of care network, they are also able to interface with other service organizations in the area including local government, juvenile justice, behavioral health, education, child welfare, service providers, and members of the public.
I have a great topic to present! How do I do that?
We love to hear about new things going on in the community! Please reach out to Coalition Facilitator Tracy Parsons in Champaign's Equity and Engagement Department to discuss your interest and potential topic. He can be reached at 217-403-8830 or outreachandengagement@champaignil.gov.
