Proposed Variation at 1757 W. Kirby Ave.

June 4, 2024

On June 20, 2024, at 4 pm, the City of Champaign Zoning Board of Appeals will hear a proposed variation case for the property located at 1757 W. Kirby Ave. The application was submitted by Pat Snack. The proposed variation would allow a restaurant drive-through to cross a portion of the access aisle for the Old Farm off-street parking lot in the CN, Commercial Neighborhood District. The Zoning Board of Appeals will hear this case in the Champaign City Council Chambers (102 N Neil St., Champaign). Zoning Board of Appeals meetings are open to the public.

The applicant has requested a variation to allow a restaurant drive-through to cross a portion of the access aisle for the Old Farm off-street parking lot in the CN, Commercial Neighborhood District. The Zoning Ordinance prohibits drive-throughs from including any portion of any access aisle or driveway for off-street parking lots. The proposed drive-through requires a variation from the standards for drive-through uses in the Zoning Ordinance.

Information about this case, including the application and the staff report, will be published on the afternoon of Friday, June 14, 2024.
