Council Goal Setting Process

Following each City Council election, members of the City Council meet to discuss and establish their shared goals for the upcoming two years. The Champaign City Council met in late 2025 to discuss and build consensus on its goals for the 2025-2027 Council term. The City Manager and her executive leadership team use the Council’s goals to set City priorities, direct work activities, and allocate staff and financial resources.
